DEATH AT MY DOOR.

DEATH AT MY DOOR

 Deaths grim gaze, holding,
A sword in ice cold bony hands
Waiting and watching, from afar......

Flash back, to childhood days,
My brother, sisters and me,
Tossing a rag doll up a tree
Broken toys and nursery rhymes,
Fathers strong caring arms,
and mothers, sweet lullabies.

Deaths grim gaze, holding,
a sword in ice cold bony hands
tiptoeing  even closer......

Flash back to college days,
My brother , sisters and me,
Out of cocoon, flying around free
Bunking days, picnics and movies
Crime, comedy and love stories
Fun, frolic and cultural activities.

Deaths grim gaze, holding,
A sword in ice cold bony hands,
Drawing, surreptitiously closer......

Flash back to youthful days,
My brother , sisters and me,
Filled with sense of responsibility
Pillar to post for jobs and interviews
Beach parties,  romantic evenings
Rosy pictures of new beginnings.

Deaths grim gaze, holding,
a sword in ice cold bony hands,
drawing stealthily closer......

My brother, sisters and me,
 Wedding bells, and shopping spree
Honeymoon and magic filled nights
Decorative homes, gardens and swings
Angelic rosy cheeked babies without wings.

Deaths grim gaze, holding,
A sword in ice cold bony hands,
Drawing, menacingly closer......

My dear brother, cruel death gripped thee
Hospitals, nurses and doctors in white
Painful days, and   sleepless nights
Temples, churches prayers to the Almighty
But the grim reaper, clutched him tightly
whisked him to far away land rapidly
My sisters and me, facing life forlornly.

Sorrow filled journey, painful memories
Lonely winding lanes, filled with worries
Remembering you, mourning your loss all along
Tearfully, rewinding, playing your favorite song
Come back dear brother, were you  belong......
